Track: Business
Speaker: Christine Orth (BVI)

Abstract

BVI- Bundesverband Investment und Asset Management e.V. is the central association which represents the interests of the German investment fund industry. It consists of 92 members who are mutual fund companies, institutional fund companies and asset management companies. The primary task of the BVI is to create "equal opportunities for all on all investment markets".

BVI’s Extranet and Internet presence is built with OpenCms. In this session, some interesting aspects of the Extranet and Internet websites will be presented.

The Extranet is used as an information platform for the members. It also provides an integrated member/user administration, as well as newsletter functionality.

The Internet presence of the BVI is used as an information portal about mutual funds of all types, eg. for retirement provisions.

With OpenCms, the BVI has chosen a system which is stable and reliable even for the high multitude of daily users of the extranet, and requests in the Internet. As true open source software, OpenCms contributes a high cost saving potential for the BVI.
